Hans van Wolde is a Cheffix ambassador

A new name joins our ambassador team: Hans van Wolde, chef-owner of the two-Michelin-star restaurant Brut172 in Reijmerstok. From now on, he wears Cheffix in his kitchen.

Who is Hans van Wolde?

Hans van Wolde cooks at Brut172, his restaurant in the heart of the South Limburg hills. The name tells you where you are: Reijmerstok lies 172 metres above sea level.

Before that, he led Beluga in Maastricht for years, where he earned his first Michelin star in 1998. With Brut172 he started again, in a new place, and came back at the very highest level.

Brut172

Reijmerstok, South Limburg. Opened in 2020, awarded two Michelin stars since 2021. The name is the altitude: 172 metres above sea level.

Beluga

Maastricht. His first Michelin star in 1998. The restaurant where Hans van Wolde made his name.

Starting again, at the highest level

Earning a Michelin star is one thing. Keeping it is another. And doing it all over again in a new restaurant, from scratch, is something you rarely see.

Brut172 opened in 2020 and was awarded two stars straight away in its first Michelin review.

Presence and quality

With his two Michelin stars for Brut172, Hans knows how much presence and quality matter: on the plate, in the dining room and in the kitchen. At Cheffix he finds clothing that suits his work, his style and his professional presence.

Cooking at that level means long shifts, heat and pace. Clothing that does not move with you, you notice after an hour. Clothing that still fits well after ten hours, you do not notice at all. That is exactly why we want to hear it from chefs like Hans: from the kitchen where it is worn.

What an ambassador does with us

For us, an ambassador is not a face on a poster. We ask chefs to wear our clothing, shift after shift, and then tell us honestly what could be better. Where does it pull, where does it get too hot, what is missing in the kitchen? Whatever comes out of that goes back to our own factory.

You can see how that works out with Edwin Vinke: together with him we created the Nassau, a tailored chef's jacket with Comfort Stretch, an apron loop on the back, a chest pocket and a pen pocket on the sleeve.

What does a Cheffix ambassador do?

He wears our clothing in his own kitchen, during real shifts, and gives us honest feedback on fit, fabric and details. Whatever comes out of that, we work into the next version in our own factory.

Does Hans van Wolde already wear Cheffix?

Yes. In the photos in this article he wears a black Cheffix chef's jacket with the Brut172 logo on the chest.

Where is Brut172?

In Reijmerstok, in the South Limburg hills. The name refers to the altitude of the restaurant: 172 metres above sea level.

Will there be a film with Hans?

Yes. As soon as it is ready, you will find it in this article and on our homepage. Follow us on Instagram if you want to be the first to see it.

More soon

This is just the beginning. What Hans notices in his kitchen, you will read about here, just as with our other ambassadors. Curious who else helps shape what we make?
